  1. Tim, Adam…
Thank you! Great memories, and more importantly, great reminders of why I do what I do.

  2. What an awesome idea! Congrats on achieving your goal in Philly, Adam! I’ll be there to watch you run in January!! I’m running in the Aramco 1/2 the next day.

  3. Adam and Tim,

I’m going to be honest in that although the book started out with a moving story, I had doubts. I was looking for ways to improve my times on the track and this looked like it could just be a cliche self-improvement book. But as I kept reading, it just kept making me more and more anxious to see what was on the next page. I began reading this book overly obsessed with running and it was negatively affecting other areas of my life. Running the Edge has allowed me to reflect on other aspects of my life and understand that despite its importance to me, running isn’t all that is out there. Running is way in which I can enhance all other areas of my life. I have made a commitment to rebuild relationships I have let take a backseat to my training throughout my time as a collegiate runner. In addition to being the best runner I can be, I will also strive to be the best person I can be. That is the most important thing. As for running, my goal is to score at our outdoor conference championship in the 10k, and help my team win that conference title. Hold me to it!

    Thanks for everything,
    Caitlin

    • Caitlin – It sounds like you are improving your relationship with running. Just like other relationships in life it can go through stages where it is extremely healthy but can also be destructive if we let it. Like just about everything in life, balance is the key. Running is important and you can go for it with everything you have as long as it is held in perspective and is used to enhance and not disrupt other aspects of your life. I think most of us have been where you describe with being overly obsessed. It is so easy to do when things are going well but when things start to go bad or injury happens we get a different look and have to adjust priorities. Thank you for sharing your thoughts here. and best of luck in the 10k in track this spring! Keep us posted on how you are doing!

  4. I have just started reading this book and with note book at my side have taken notes, making lists that have already affected my life and running for the better. This book by far is the best tool to rediscover yourself as a better person and a better runner!
